XYZbot’s “Tip Toe” debuts at Denver Mini Maker Faire
Tip Toe debuts at Denver Mini Maker Faire TipToe is a new robot being developed by XYZbot. TipToe has 6 legs and LED eyes with changeable color (RGB LEDs). The robot comes as a kit of parts, which assembles in about 30 minutes, then download a free iPhone app, switch TipToe on, and start walking. Forward, Backward, and Turn motions are possible. Add-on modules allow you to upgrade TipToe to add a speaker to have him beep sounds, or add a sonar or temperature sensor for ranging. TipToe is based on the RFD22301 SMT RFduino, a Bluetooth® 4.0 Low Energy BLE, Arduino-compatible RF Module with Built-In ARM Cortex M0 Microcontroller. Reprogramming for customization is easy using the Arduino IDE (if desired). TipToe can be controlled immediately using the iPhone app, but advanced users can reprogram for their own behaviors, including autonomous action. TipToe will debut at the Denver Mini Maker Faire on May 3rd and 4th at the National Western Complex. Come out and drive TipToe around and meet his makers, XYZbot at booth number is 807.
